Blog Neglect: When a Good Blog Goes Bad

I've had quite a few e-mails lately asking about my layoff here...

I've suffering from a temporary case of work overload and neglected my blog.

Behind the scenes I have a over 25 articles ranging from outlines to almost finished, but I've been side-tracked. Next week I expect to be back to regular postings.

Keep those cards and letters coming!

PS: I'm going to Palm Springs to dance/teach Salsa over the New Years holiday. I hope some of you consider attending. It's a GREAT event.

Check it out at: SalsaMamboFestival.com

hello don,
I use this to ask a question:)) :
We have seen on several dvds and workshops different ways of "Copa". How do you define a copa?
Thank you

Hmmm... I find that an interesting question, since I do them regularly but never tried to describe them via words.

First thing is the count depends on On1, On2 (and all the variations) so I'll try to be generic.

With thinking too much, I'd say they start similar to a cross body lead (cbl), but on the 3rd count I stop the ladies forward progress (some call this a "check"), with a hand on her shoulder or waist/hips and then "send her out" in the reverse direction, putting her back where she started.

That said, I have some copas where I don't use the hand check... so it's fuzzy.

Hopefully someone else can provide a stronger written version, and I'll think about it also.

The question I'm thinking is "what is the essence of a copa" and while I have a set of copas I do, I don't have a good answer for that question today.

All input welcomed!
